A restroom’s enclosed environment, small space, humidity, excessive chemical substances, creates favourable breeding conditions for pathogenic bacteria, fungi and other pests, and leads to a lot of indoor allergens produced.
Bathroom air health research results from a University study showed that the toilet contains a lot of salmonella (food contamination), Streptococcus (urinary tract infection), Escherichia coli (urinary tract infections, sepsis and diarrhoea), hepatitis viruses, colds and flu, rhinovirus and the like.
Human waste also contains a variety of bacteria and viruses, and parasites and other pathogens, often with Staphylococcus aureus and so on. Toilet odour contains a higher concentration of ammonia, hydrogen sulphide and other harmful gases.
Scenting can only mask the odour, not treat the source of problem and can be a very expensive option. Chemicals can only clean temporarily and can be hazardous.
